Topography is a series of coded patterns representing a three-dimensional arrangement of layers, the semiconductor product is comprised of. Protection may be sought by a person entitled to the right to the semiconductor product, i.e. the originator or originator’s employer. Protection of the topography arises on the day of its first commercial exploitation, if an application is filed within two years at the latest, or on a filing date of the application. The term of protection is ten years from the end of the calendar year in which protection of the topography have come into existence.
